Life Story

Alan Uffer
April 26, 1956 - July 14, 2021

Alan Uffer 65, of Levittown, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 14, 2021, after battling health issues over the last five months.
Alan was born April 26, 1956 to Phil and Harriet Uffer who are pre-deceased and spent his first 30 years residing in Levittown, NY. Alan was inseparable from his mother during their life together and learned and saw so much from her. Alan grew up with developmental disabilities and was revered and loved by all residents of Levittown and those whose paths crossed his. Everyone looked out for Alan!
Alan’s life was so amazing and there were just four things that made each of his days as special as they could be; three meals a day, his meds as prescribed, a bed to sleep in and reading his Long Island Newsday. These are the things that provided Alan comfort and made each day incredible. Alan also loved Chinese Food and Super Big Gulps from 7/11. Just think what an extraordinary, complete, and happy life Alan garnered with his uncomplicated life. Think about your own life and what you need to be happy and now think about Alan’s? Alan wins, hands down!!!
Alan is also survived by his loving brother Robert (Bobby) of Stony Point (Levittown), NY and his nephews Harrison and Jordan.
A graveside funeral service will take place on Monday July 19, 2021 at 11:30 am at New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon, NY
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that when you eat Chinese Food again, that you smile and recall the joy of knowing Alan and how much he enjoyed this cuisine.

I wish I could be with you, Robert, not to mourn Alan’s death but to celebrate Alan’s life. He was a dear and loving cousin and certainly made his mark with many people. He never failed to ask me how was “the cancer”anytime I spoke with him…thinking of me. He was bright in spite of his problems and I will always remember him avidly reading the New York Times. My fondest memory is surprising him at his birthday party in a restaurant in Long Island years ago. He ran over to me with such joy.
He will always be in my heart…
Sending much love to you and all of my condolences to you, Harrison and Jordan.
    Love from Gail
