    ברוך דין האמת.
Our hearts are heavy at this news. Alan had such a sweet way about him. We always enjoyed anytime we spent with him. As Bruce reminded me, Alan and Selma were among the first members of the extended family he met and both have a special place in our hearts.
We send our love and support.
    Edith and Bruce

I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Alan. Even though he wasn’t really my uncle, it felt like he was. I will never forget him running around helping at my wedding. He was truly an amazing person who was always there for everyone, and I am thankful for all the love and support he and Selma have given our family over the years.

Though it’s been many years since my time with Alan memories of him are indelible and all positive. Though his passing was not unexpected that doesn’t lessen it’s impact and sadness. Genuineness, intelligence, warmth and devotion were among his many qualities.
    My sincere condolences.

  19. Kathi ODonohue says:

Uncle Alan holds a place in my heart I do not have the words for, easily. He and Selma. in my mind, were my understudy parents (theatre reference). I am so sorry for this loss to his whole family. I am sorry for my loss. I watched the funeral, just now, and wish I could have lived closer and had more contact with the man Eden spoke about. I felt his support and love, too. Bob’s memories of an older brother helped make me feel closer to him and Alan.
Rabbi, I give you a standing ovation, from my desk, and loved all the words you spoke and the man you spoke about is held nearer to my heart.
Selma, I still don’t have the words to tell you how much I loved my uncle and am so sorry I wasn’t able to see him during a happier time.
I love you so much, too, and look forward to seeing you later this summer, I hope.
    Kathi xoxo

The Stuyvesant High School Class of 1957 grieves the loss of Alan. Though we meet infrequently and lately on Zoom, Alan was a major link in our strong band. His goodness is plain to see in any picture. In 1954 he was my homeroom classmate; it was always a pleasure to see him.
